  • Construirá carreteras, edificios y otras estructuras. 

  • Construirá estructuras mediante el vertido de hormigón y la coordinación de las acciones de las máquinas con los equipos en respuesta a señales manuales o acústicas. 

  • Realizará la limpieza, el mantenimiento y las reparaciones básicas de los equipos. 

Algunas de las opciones de carreras profesionales que tendrá son:

Las personas con credenciales en Operaciones de equipo pesado de construcción van a trabajar para empresas de construcción o contratistas. Los operadores de maquinaria pesada suelen trabajar al aire libre en casi todos los climas y condiciones meteorológicas. Algunos operarios trabajan en fábricas, minas o lugares remotos, o en grandes proyectos de construcción como autopistas y presas. La mayoría trabaja a tiempo completo. 

Los estudiantes también deberían considerar la posibilidad de cursar programas avanzados de Pavimentación de asfalto y otros programas de capacitación avanzada en Job Corps como parte de su trayectoria profesional. 

Las credenciales que obtendrá:  

El programa de pre pasantía de Operaciones de equipo pesado de construcción, que es operado por nuestro contratista de capacitación de la industria International Union of Operating Engineers (sindicato internacional de ingenieros operativos, IUOE), ofrece credenciales y certificaciones de la industria a los estudiantes que completan el programa. Los estudiantes también deben obtener un permiso de aprendizaje y una licencia de conducir emitidos por el estado al finalizar el programa. 

Lo que necesitará para empezar la capacitación:
