Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 to 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Job Corps program is authorized by Title I-C of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (supersedes WIA 1998). For more information about the Job Corps program at a national level, please visit our Official Public Web Site.

At Jacobs Creek Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, we support the Job Corps program's mission of teaching eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and placing them in meaningful jobs or further education.

To help achieve this, Jacobs Creek Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center is overseen by the Atlanta Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by U.S. Forest Service. Our Center Director is Terrance Phillips.

Our Center's History
The Jacobs Creek Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center has been at the forefront of the War on Poverty since its early days as a Depression-era Civilian Conservation Corp camp in the 1930s. Back then, the camp, and many others like it, gave young people the hope and purpose their lives lacked. As one of the first Job Corps centers the country in 1965, the center has continued that mission to this day.

The jury is no longer "out" on the Job Corps. The verdict has been rendered, and the verdict is "well done" -- "well done" U.S. Congress, "well done" U.S. industry, U.S. labor, U.S. philanthropy, U.S. taxpayers, U.S. workers!
